Design-driven, lifestyle hotels are popping up all over the USA. This month, USA TODAY Travel takes a look of five of the most prominent hotel openings.

Graduate Hotels has opened the Graduate Berkeley hotel, a tribute to UC Berkeley and the Golden Bears.

The 143-room property occupies what was once the historic Hotel Durant, named for UC Berkeley founder Henry Durant.
